I just love helping people...

As a mother of 2 and a nurse, my life can be pretty stressful at times.

I decided to have some Personal Training, I wanted to tone up, build some strength as there are a couple of bits that began to wobble, and I needed something to help me de-stress.

I’d tried gyms before but never lasted as I didn’t get any extra support. I run a couple of times a week, but it didn’t do anything to help me get toned.
I saw a video on Facebook, and decided to contact Ged from R A Fitness, I’m made up that I did.

After an initial phone call, where Ged answered all my questions, I decided to go for it, one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I must admit I was worried about the cost, as I had a limited budget, but during the first session Ged gave me a breakdown of the costs & explained that his main job is to educate me to exercise and get me self-sufficient ASAP.

He’s a man of his word, he’s taught me how to exercise and best of all it cost me less than half of what I’d budgeted.

I used to suffer with back pain, not anymore!

I’m getting stronger all the time, I’ve lost some wobbly bits and built some muscle, I am definitely more toned, and best of all, my spirits are lifted, I feel like the gym’s given my brain a spring clean.

“Ged you’re a man of your word, you’ve improved my fitness so quickly and efficiently without robbing me blind. You listened to what I wanted and helped me to achieve it effectively & much faster than I anticipated.
I’m looking forwards to joining your gym and continuing getting the results”

It's not all about the scales

Some Monday motivation.

One of my transformation clients posted these pics into my private group over the weekend.

This highlights to me that scale weight isn't everything, yes there's 10lbs different, but the change in body shape is unreal.
I've helped her to develop new habits that got her these results, which I'm sure you'll agree are pretty amazing.

Now her story isn't typical:
J******e completed a 6 week transformation with me last June.
A huge part of the programme is to help empoweer the clients to be able to exercise safely, and understand nutrition so that they can continue to make progress.

After the 6 weeks, she was so confident, she joined a 24HR gym, as it was closer to home, and the hours better suited.
She did ok, but her results stalled due to having no accountability or support network.

Taking the brave step to reach out for help again, I dialled things back in and we started to get those results again, with just a few tweaks here and there.
Round of applause to this lady, she's back on track, and super happy about the results.

What Did I Just See?

11/4/2018

Just incase you didn't see this

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to see the start of something pretty special, I was there at the birth of a new phenomenon.

One of my coaching clients had been struggling lately with staying on track.

She’s done great, lost over 3 stone and an impressive 8 inches from her waist, stuck with everything really well, then one thing or another threw up some challenges, and she started heading back to the old ways.

This happens a lot, your mind/body just goes back to auto-pilot, which usually means bad habits kick in again.

So, I put my thinking cap on, went out with the ~dreamteam (The dogs) and made a video. As usual, I popped it in the Facebook group, hoping that it would help her to start back towards making some better choices.

Then it happened!!

A few of the other ladies in the group, commented on the video too, saying that this video was just what they needed.

Before I knew it, they were all posting comments of support, words of wisdom – I’d never seen them interact so well.

Next thing, out of nowhere comes a #

The birth of #Powerwomen happened right there.

Now we’ve got new playlists for the music, and what is a new lease of life for them all, somehow, they clubbed together and made one girls struggle, their own group responsibility.

The best part of it, it showed me how far they’ve come. It showed me they’ve taken on board the coaching, and developed into clients that actually get it, they no longer need the pat on the back for affirmation, they became #Powerwomen right then and there.

This is great news. It means they’re ready, they’ve got the tools, education, and strategies to cope with life’s challenges.

I’ve done my job well – PROUD CACH MOMENT 😊

 This means that I can start to look for some new people, that are looking for help, that need that extra support, time for me to get some new fledglings and turn them into soaring eagles.

The pain of investment

11/2/2018

I’m sat there at the computer, finger hovering over the button and working out whether the investment is worth it.

I’ve got a tough choice to make, am I going to get this and move forwards or am I happy where I am right now.

Stepping out of my comfort zone. Eeeeekkk

This is the choice I had to make, when I was investing in the new equipment to do the Full Body Assessments at the gym.

I was worried, this is a lot of money, what if it doesn’t work out, what if it’s a flop, what if I fail.

All these were running through my head with my finger poised on the “click to Buy” button.

Fear was holding me back, I knew it was a HUGE financial investment for the gym, and another responsibility for me to make this work.

I spoke with my business coach then I HIT THE BUTTON

Guess what, we made a plan of how I’d make this work and started to implement it - I booked 4 people that day.
The investment is going to pay off.

I know that if I put the work in this will be amazing, and after a couple of months I’ll reap the benefits.

I learned something valuable.

I got to see the other side of things;
When potential clients are worried about the financial investment they make for my programme. I know it's a sound investment that will yeild the results, but the fear holds you back.

The fear of it not working, or not being successful.
Most importantly the fear wasting time and money on something, it feels like gambling.

That same fear was holding me back, keeping me from moving towards the goal, I realised it’s normal.

I was heading into the unknown offering something brand new and groundbreaking, something nobody’s done before.

I wish I had client testimonials to read and knew that it was already results proven.
So at least the clients looking at my 6-week programme have those, I now realise the value of them.
I can’t wait to see the results my clients get with the information the new equipment will give them.

So, I’m off to do some science on myself and get accustomed to the new equipment.

I can't Afford to Diet.

5/2/2018

This statement nearly floored me, as I couldn’t work out how eating less was going to cost more.
I started to ask questions and found the underlying cause of it.

This lady had a skewed view on what being on a “diet” meant.

Now I don’t like the term diet but it’s what most people think about when it comes to weight loss so for the time being we’ll stick with it.

She’d previously joined a slimming club, (weight watchers/slimming world) and had been sucked into buying their products to help her, big mistake I know.

She was buying bars and soups, ready meals, the whole 9 yards, then found it was costing her more to eat less, that’s just crazy.

There was a secondary problem too, time. Whilst she was following their “diet” she was still having to make food for the family, so double whammy.

She was miserable.

I knew I could help, not only save her a tonne of money, but eat better, save time, and save money too.

So, I’ve put together a quick video for you to watch here; WATCH VIDEO

In it I share 4 tips that I used to save her over £100 a week on her shopping bill. As well as drop a dress size in 6 weeks.

You can start to use them today and be saving time and money tomorrow.
Let me know how you get on.

She lost 8 inches from her waist?!

An Amazing Story.

Sometimes someone makes such a huge impact that I just can't contain myself.
I really need to, no I HAVE TO share this with you.
A result from one of my clients.

“I was stuck in a rut, constantly over eating and my fitness was at its lowest point.
After becoming particularly lazy, unhappy and eating terribly for a few years. I’d tried it on my own, I knew I needed help.
I’d been interested in strength training, so attended a workshop at a gym near work. I had no idea from then my life was about to take a huge change in direction.
This gym was different, don’t ask me how but I knew that this was “My Gym”. I spoke with Ged after the workshop, and he told me about his 6 Week programme. I’d tried it all, or so I thought. Slimming world, weight watchers, running cardio, and it all ended with me falling back into my old ways,
He promised me results.

He wasn’t wrong.

The results I had were amazing!
* Bags of energy.
* I lost over a stone.
* My arms, stomach, and legs were slimmer and visibly more toned.
He supplied all the tools to get results and stay motivated were delivered to me right through the programme.

Because of this programme, and working with Ged;
*I can carry any shopping bags/bales of straw/laminate flooring (real life actual incidents) without having to take the help offered from a well-meaning gent.
* I have so much more confidence.
* I no longer hide under my baggy clothes.
And best of all ..... I've made lots of great friends.

If you’re thinking of doing this, my advice “Don't think about it, just do it. Worth every penny and there's no time like the present.”
Ged has created a fantastic gym. Genuinely everyone is lovely and supportive. I love my gym 'family' and wouldn't swap it for anything.

P.S I carried on after my 6 Weeks, I’m now 6 months in and a fully-fledged member of the gym, to date:
*I’ve lost 8 inches from my waist
*I’m 3 stone lighter.
* I’m not perfect but each day I get a little better, and that’s enough to keep me “hungry” but now it’s for results.

Becky's Story

I am currently in my last week of the 6 week transformation training and I want to write an honest review for anyone out there that like me needs to drop some weight or wants to be stronger and or wants to kick start a healthy approach to their diet. I have never considered myself a 'gym' person and had never picked up a kettle bell in my life, but I had read a bit about how effective lifting weights can be and wanted to find someone to help me. I can honestly say I have absolutely loved it. I've lost 1 stone in weight and feel much more toned. Ged has put everything in place to make everything as simple to follow and effective as possible. The atmosphere in the gym is great and I would now feel confident that I know a bit more about the equipment that I could go it alone if I wanted. This is not to say it's been easy, I have pushed myself, I've dragged myself out of bed some mornings, I had lots of aching muscles at the start and I've gone home with a sweaty beetroot face most days! But everyone knows that you can't expect to get results if you're not prepared to put the effort in. If you have the desire and are willing to follow the plan then this will work for you.

Benefits of strength training for women over 40

14/12/2016

0 Comments

Over the last decade, researchers have made extremely compelling arguments for the benefits of weight training for women and those over the age of forty. Still, the number of women who take this recommendation to heart is still quite low.
Most women who exercise are spending most of their gym time on cardiovascular exercise, and less time using resistance that challenges their bodies.
Benefits of strength training.
Here's Tracey Parry box squatting 25kg, now she's is no bodybuilder but does know the benefits of lifting weights.
* Lose Body Fat.
* Gain Strength Without Bulk.
* Decrease Your Risk Of Osteoporosis.
* Improve Your Athletic Performance.
* Be Physically Stronger.
* Reduce Risk Of Injury, Back Pain & Arthritis.
* Reduce Your Risk Of Heart Disease.
* Reduce Your Risk of Diabetes.
If you'd like to benefit from some strength training please use this link to book a phone call from me,

There's no hard sell and I've got options to suit all budgets.

Wanna Get High? Do You Have A Trainer or A Dealer?

13/4/2016

Hopefully the title has grabbed your attention,
I woke up today and flicked through FB like a lot of us do, and saw quite a shocking post from a local (well within 10 miles)trainer/ gym owner, the owner offering to sell his clients "The Best Fat Burners I've ever had, only £20 a botlle"
You're possibly thinking "hey my trainer has sold me fat burners, what's the big deal?" I personally think it shows a real flaw, not only in their training but also within the moral compass.  I would ask yourself "why are they offering me these?" If they offered you something that would make you lift more weight, throw further, jump higher or run faster, would you take that too?
First and foremost your trainer should be encouraging you to adopt a healthy lifestyle, with good eating habbits not offering a short cut, to me this really shows a lack of skill & education within their profession.
Seccondly, they quite simply DON'T WORK!, yes they'll make you sweat like mad and feel jittery but you still need to be in a calorie defecit. Why not simply eat a bit less & don't take the drugs? Crazy I know, but guess what, you'll save money, be putting less chemicals through your body and probably be doing yourself a massive favour in the long run.
So why is your trainer offering you them? Quite simply they're trying to line their pockets, selling you "snake oil", and if/when you get results, guess what, they try to take all the credit for your hard work!!!
So if you're trainer is offering you drugs to take a shortcut, you should think about what their motivation is, basically they're crap so run a mile, unless of course like towellie says you " WANNA GET HIGH?"
I have had hundreds of succesfull clients, who have all had their results through their hard work, healthy eating and some good information from me, the most important factor is creating a better lifestyle choice for them, that will last forever, not just as long as you're taking the pills.
If you or somebody you know has a trainer that's selling you the next magic pill or potion, please get rid and get in touch, by filling this form in and I'll have you back on track in no time.

A few of you may of heard me going on about the Strength & Conditioning Mentorship I'm doing at the minute. As well as this making me better at what I do in the gym, I know it's hard to believe I could be better, I have also been appointed a business mentor to help me to take the gym forwards and improve the things we do for you as clients. In the not to distant future there are going to be some significant changes in the way the gym is structured and ran, which for some will be much better yet for others will possibly have them leaving for pastures new, I hope this won't be too many. I am going to bring in another coach, who will be able to offer some great new things for us, as well as a couple of other services to make our gym the number 1 place people will come to get results from their training.
Please bare with me whilst I dot the I's and cross the T's.
